Section 3: Calendar Button Bar - All of the calendar views share the same button bar. Its components are used to navigate to other dates and locations, create new events, print, change preferences, get help and manipulate calendar filters. These topics are covered in depth elsewhere in the help documentation, but one must know how to access them. This section of the help documentation gives an overview of each component of the button bar.

People button - Clicking this button navigates to the People module, where calendar users can be added.

Task buttons - Click the New Task button (check mark in a check box) to create a new task. Clicking the Event List button (check mark on a list page) navigates to the Event List in the Task module, where appointments and tasks can be searched, deleted, printed, etc.

New Appointment button - Creates a new appointment.

Month/Week/Day View buttons - Clicking the Month View button (1 of 3 above) displays Month view for the currently selected date. Clicking the Week View button (2 of 3 above) displays Week view for the currently selected date. Clicking the Day View button (3 of 3 above) displays Day view for the currently selected date.

Today button - Changes the view so that today's date is displayed.

Specify Date button - Allows the user to select a particular date to view.

Filters section - Contains the User dropdown list, where the current user can be changed. The Go button must be clicked after the user is changed to finalize the user selection. Clicking the More button allows a user to add additional filters. A red ball to the right of the More button indicates that additional filters are currently in use. Filters are discussed in depth elsewhere in this manual.

Note: the User dropdown list in the Calendar module is generated from the Task module, not the People file. Only those users with events assigned to them will appear in the User dropdown list on the Calendar button bar. The User dropdown list in the Task and Appointment creation dialogs, on the other hand, is generated from the list of users in the People file.

Print button - Allows the user to print the information on the current screen.

Preferences button - Navigates to the preferences screen, where event types and colors can be changed, and the default view can be set.

Help button - Displays help for the current screen.
